LDL cholesterol management in high Lp(a) patients

With my patients I do not like to use the word “normal cholesterol panel”…the key is to know what the exact LDL number is. All recommendations are based on the LDL number. For all Indians: Keep LDL less than 100 For those with known heart disease or diabetes: Keep less than 70 With additionally high Lp(a) , definitely keep less than 70 (we evaluate risk more carefully here and often shoot for even lower LDL of less than 55
