Blood glucose spike interpretation factors
Do you also think that in the comparison of mexican food vs. white bread toast, the time of day (more so where you are in your circadian cycle) and what you were doing around the meal (white bread eaten right after waking up vs. mexican meal following a walk to the restaurant) has a major impact on the interpretation of one being better than the other in terms of the measured spike I’m also thinking the time it took to eat the white bread vs. time it took to eat the mexican meal matter, and the total glycemic load would also be contributors; (I’m trying to understand how to interpret those spikes meaningfully)
All good points. 1. Point about am circadian rhythm is valid- cortisol levels somewhat higher between 8-10 am 2. the Mexican meal was high in protein ( 2 types of meat) and had salad as well . There was practically no walk prior. So it was a balanced meal with relatively lower carbs And that was the point really.
